malaysia — green packet wireless broadband for kuala lumpur
Green Packet has announced that it is to undertake the Kuala Lumpur Wireless Metropolitan Project, as part of a three-year agreement with the Malaysian government. The project is expected to be completed by January 2009, with Packet One Networks, a Green Packet subsidiary, building the city-wide wireless network. The value of the deal has been estimated at MYR60 million (USD18.6 million).

Green Packet Berhad is engaged in the business of research, development, manufacturing, marketing and distribution of wireless networking and telecommunication products, networking solution and other high technology products and services. Its products and services comprise three main wireless networking solutions: SONaccess, SONbuddy and SONmetro. Ltd., Green Packet (Australia) Pty Ltd. and Packet One International Sdn. Bhd. In January 2007, the Company acquired Packet One Sdn Bhd. In April 2008, the Company disposed its interest in P1.Com Sdn Bhd. In May 2008, the Company acquired Worldline Enterprise Sdn Bhd.
