usa — verizon launches fios tv for businesses

US wireline carrier Verizon Communications has launched its FiOS TV service for business users, with the fibre-based subscription television being offered for use in locations such as bars, restaurants, building lobby areas, banks and health service waiting rooms. The service offers up to 400 digital TV and music channels, including around 30 high definition TV stations. Video-on-demand services are also available, with a library of more than 10,000 titles. In addition, subscribers can access pay-per-view content such as sporting events and concerts. Verizon FiOS TV for Business is available in selected areas of its 13-state FiOS service region which covers California, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas and Virginia. Pricing starts at USD49.99 a month, with rebates available to customers who couple their TV service with a FiOS broadband internet package.
