usa — qwest replaces sprint with verizon service
Denver-based Qwest Communications began selling Verizon Wireless plans on 30 July. The new five year agreement replaces the service Qwest had been operating since 2003 where it sold wireless phone plans under the Qwest Wireless brand using Sprint network access, which it bought wholesale.
Qwest is the primary local phone provider in 14 states in the West and Midwest, but has no wireless network of its own.
